Project Description

150 Worth Avenue and Aveda Celebrate “Earth” Month.

150 Worth Avenue, Palm Beach, FL

With all of the talk of “global warming,” California’s fast receding water supply, and various other threats to Mother Nature as we know her, its no wonder that the annual dedication of April 22 as “Earth Day” has been officially extended to the full month of April, embracing all that will bring us closer to nature and harmony.

“Earth Month” is going to be celebrated in a big way as 150 Worth Avenue goes “green” with a multitude of events that will work in collaboration with the official Aveda store that resides within the beautiful outdoor Esplanade shopping center. Through this collaboration, all funds raised will be directly given to the Everglades Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting and restoring the unique eco-system that provides economic, recreational and life-sustaining benefits to millions of Floridians. The Everglades Foundation celebrates Earth Month every year by teaming up with Aveda as they share the mission “to care for the world we live in.”

Earth Month Events with 150 Worth Avenue will begin on Saturday, April 11 with a weekly Saturday Yoga Practice featuring instructor Karrie Musa, within the peaceful tranquility of 150 Worth. These classes are $20(cash or check) and will feature Aveda’s calming herbal tea service and fresh fruit as well as specially crafted aromatherapy by Aveda Manager Faith Spencer, tailored to relaxation and clarity during the practice.

Also included in 150 Worth Avenue’s earth friendly efforts is the enlisting of shredding service, Shred-it to encourage the Palm Beach Community to shred their accumulated documents by the box-full and will then remove the shredding to recycle them properly.

Officially, Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22, and 150 Worth will be hosting a special 10am Yoga Practice with Instructor Karrie Musa. The Tossed Salad Shop will then be on location at 150 Worth to provide a lunch with salads and freshly made smoothies.

April 24 will bring an event that all the earth “Mothers” will love! An earth-friendly
“Kids eARTh Express” will be hosted by Karen Nobel, Owner/Creator of Kids Need More Art (kidsneedmoreart.com), an advocacy based children’s art studio with three locations in West Palm Beach, Jupiter, and Stuart. With environmental sustainability at the forefront of their philosophy, they will provide a free earth friendly art project to create with kids while their moms are treated to a customized scent experience by Aveda, and will be invited to enjoy shopping through the Esplanade. The art piece that the kids create will be displayed for the rest of the month in 150 Worth Avenue Shops.

Stay tuned for updates on events and don’t miss the chance to celebrate our planet together with 150 Worth Avenue and Aveda!
